Happy Housewife

The stunning image above is a print inspired by a 1940's vintage blender ad; it is titled, "It Blends, It Mashes" and is created by Emily Clarke. Please check out her gorgeous, retro influenced oil paintings and prints in her charming Etsy shop!

Yesterday my Aunt Mary Lynn gave me two lovely, vintage-looking, and very feminine hand-sewn aprons and a beautiful crocheted afghan. I love all of these hand-crafted items dearly and I am going to send my aunt a thank you card along with one of my hand-painted, upcycled decoupage canisters as an expression of my sincere appreciation.

My beautiful, new, "housewifey" aprons inspired me to make blueberry pancakes with bacon this morning (containing organic whole wheat pastry flour, raw cow's milk, and organic, nitrate-free bacon of course!) ;-) My husband and I both had a cheerful Saturday morning...we gobbled up our pancakes with real maple syrup and butter and shared a big glass of raw grass-fed cow's milk: YUM! I actually wore my new, pinafore-style apron all afternoon (I love the big/deep pockets on this one and how flirty I feel in it) and I wonderfully tidied up our home...playing housewife can be so much fun and gratifying! As long as I stay positive and keep my to-do list in mind, I can accomplish anything! I have learned that a happy wife equals a happy husband...which also produces happier children and pets!
