The bright and humble image above is an original watercolor by MKisling titled "On the Prairie" Art...This painting brings about happy dreamed-filled visions my husband, Joe, and I share for the homestead we will have someday.
We dream of living on a beautiful prairie, like the one pictured above, and having our happy family nestled inside a cozy cottage or earth-rammed house. Although we have no children of our own yet, we dream of having a house full of playful, imaginative children. Our homestead will be a farm so we can tend to our future goats, chickens, cows, and maybe even rabbits! We've got to have a miniature horse or two as well! Joe and I are currently living on a miniature horse ranch where we feed the minis and give them love; having this undertaking has opened our minds and hearts to the joys of having a farm, and has encouraged us to go after our dreams of having our own homestead. One of my shop items is featured in a treasury today! Please check out this adorably rustic treasury created by Sock Monster titled "Plan B" where my organic kombucha is featured amongst all of the other homesteading essentials!

Love the rusty and blue tones of the watercolor painting you have featured on this post. These colors really help to capture the essence of the scene. Love the windmill too. :-)
I have a life-long friend who is living her homesteading dream with her hubby and six kids (and a whole lot of animals!) in Kentucky... You can do it!
Thanks Jessica for featuring my painting on your blog. I love that you use recycled items in your handcrafts.
It's been my pleasure Martha! Your "On the Prairie" painting is so charming!
Thank you Life With Crazies for the inspiration! Your friend must be having the time of her life! ;-D
