It's National Oatmeal Month!

Mmm! Nothing is better on a cold day with a little snow falling down than a warm, comforting bowl of OATMEAL! My husband, Joe, makes the best oatmeal ever...always with local honey and lots of cinnamon. ;-) Celebrate this National Oatmeal Month of January with a delicious sweet and buttery bowl of Oatmeal!

Also, if you really want to have a celebration...you should get a case of Joe's and my favorite beer "Salmuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout"! Oooh, it is dark, delicious, and perfect for warming you from the inside out...a terrific beverage for this chilly month.

  1. I love oatmeal! I like to add a small spoon of peanut butter on top. I haven't had that particular stout you mentioned, but I love the one by The Stockyard! Yum!

  2. Hello Felicity! Mmm, yes peanut butter is a wonderful addition to a bowl of oatmeal! Oooh, thank you for the oatmeal stout suggestion! My husband and I are excited about trying the Stockyard one. You should definitely try out the Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout...it is INCREDIBLE! ;-D

  3. Robert and I have had our eyes on an oatmeal stout beer-making kit for a while now; I think we're going to get it. I would love to have it made by this coming fall/autumn.

  4. Wow, I would love to try some home-brewed oatmeal stout! Joe says you should try making it homemade without getting a kit...Ha ha, of course eHow has a "how to" about it; but I am sure there are many others you can use as reference. ;-)

  5. Hey thanks for the ehow link!!! I will have to show Robert this. I like that this recipe calls for plain sugar rather than malt syrup, which is the sweetener in the kit. Thanks again!
