It's National Sewing Month!

It's National Sewing Month! To celebrate this wonderful September of Sewing, I would like to encourage you all to pick up that needle and thread and get sewing your very own creation by featuring my favorite sewing supply selections!

Let's start off with a creation of my own! How about a hand-painted upcycled decoupage canister to store your sewing scissors, pin cushion, needles, thread, buttons, thimble, etc.?!!! This lovely little canister called "Woo Hoo, Is Sew In Love" displays a happy crafty lady, her heart shaped pin cushion & sewing kit, and her frolicking hand-sewn owl pillows. This canister would look lovely in a craftroom, desk, or sewing station!

Speaking of a heart shaped pin cushion, here is a delightful looking one created by AlliumDesign. Please check out her charming Etsy shop!

Here is a stunning print by Emmalynne of a vintage sewing machine; this eye-catching picture would look gorgeous in a craft room...and perhaps it will inspire you to get sewing!

Okay, so maybe you need a little guidance in your sewing aspiration; here is an adorable vintage Simplicity sewing pattern by HeyChica...what perfect timing too, it is for sewing Halloween costumes...maybe you will have enough time between now and Halloween to sew yourself an awesome costume!

...and if you have a Little Red Riding Hood costume, why not get some buttons to match?! These are absolutely delightful buttons by aimoobaroo.

Don't forget a beautiful little thimble to protect your delicate fingers from being pricked by sewing needs. This spectacular thimble was crafted by bastillebleu.

Do you all remember the little owl pillow I mentioned before on my canister? Well, here is a lovable little one to match! Maybe this blog post will inspire you to make your own owl pillow; or it might just be too appealing to get this adorable one by buttercupbloom.

  5. Wish I could sew. Telling myself that I will learn someday. Really want to sew little girl dresses if I ever have a little girl. ;-)

  6. Thank you ladies! I really enjoyed hand-sewing little Japanese aromatherapy sachets for Christmas gifts last year. It would be so nice to have my own sewing room or corner in my house; I would love to learn how to use a sewing machine!
